One of the main peculiarities of Foras has always been its enormous production flexibility. This means, on one hand, the ability to reduce order fulfilment times to a minimum and, on the other, the capacity to adapt to sudden variations in demand, whether in terms of quantity or composition. Considering the entire range of 0.37 to 37kW motor-drive pumps, Foras currently has an average production rate of 3,000 units per day. This can be increased by as much as 25% during periods of maximum demand. All pumps produced (not samples) are individually submitted to error-proof electrical and hydraulic functional testing.

Foras's true wealth is its human resources. Particularly in a technological and commercial context, know-how is the most precious and difficult to reproduce asset a company can possess. Bearing this in mind, considerable emphasis is placed on selection, training and work conditions, stimulating and encouraging employees to create innovation and contribute to the company's development and success. The staff of Foras has grown in parallel with turnover and a considerable increase is expected in the near future as a result of the decision to apply for company ISO 9000 certification.

Foras's production growth strategy has been developed along well-defined guidelines: in-house conception, design and production (in the sense of product assembly);use of network decentralisation for the supply of intermediate materials and semi-finished products. The investments planned during recent years have enabled the company to maintain adeguate research and development programmes with equipment constantly update for the assembly of particular products and two new concept testing and prototype study areas, completely automated and equipped with technologically avant-garde equipment. This has enabled the range of products to be constantly expanded and renewed, with reliability and security being de rigueur and constant research into process innovation in order to achieve major economies of scale of production costs.

Foras's vocation for exports is obvious and confirmed by the 86.2% share total sales accounted for by exports, especially taking into considering that about 80% of Italian sales go to regular exporters. The fragmentation of turnover in the various geographic areas (with exports going to about 95 countries) is also extraordinary. This fact has enabled the company to weather the heavy economic crises occurring over the years in the various continents without particular difficulty, preventing them from affecting the overall rate of growth achieved during the decade of activity.
